Quality music is what these guys do, the bass guitar hums in a melodic way, like sitting on a riverbank feeling dizzy now and then.
This is another example for a band that is made of talented musicians. The idea came from Caleb Scofield and Santos Montano to have something beside Old Man Gloom that uses their own ideas without restriction or compromise. Needles to say, they didn’t move far from the style, what they really did is that they added a lot of dirty and psychedelic material to it.
Most likely, they wanted their name not express “fuck off” hence Old Man Gloom and Zozobra is practically the same: a 50 feet tall marionette-doll. Other members of the band are Aaron Turner from Isis and Adam McGrath from the bands Cave In and Clouds.
A bit squeaky and hissy here and there, but it is also flows robustly which is completed by the howling, it is a great music for relaxing and during drinking.
