CloudKicker @english version 0
In continuing my search for materials that are free I present to you the one-man project called Cloudkicker, which is like a lunch at an all-you-can-eat restaurant without the waiter bringing out your check at the end.
The mind behind the project is Ben Sharp who is the musician, studio, management and publishing in one person. He doesn’t tell us much about himself or what kind of bands he has any connection with, nevertheless, even though he does it as a hobby of his the music is ingenious. Dissonant, technical, progressive and complex metal is what he does here; the only handicap of it is that you can hear out the virtual drums quite harshly. What it mostly resembles (according to every other source as well) is an experimental and instrumental kind of Meshuggah which is quite true. During the previous month the number of the downloads of his albums were around twenty thousand(!) which is a reason that we might hope the project will be popular. He does not expect anything from the project; he’s just playing music and just lets it out in the open and if people like it he’s happy, if not, well that’s not a problem at all.
With the first link you can download both of his albums, zipped in vbr mp3 and flac format. Under the second link you’ll find a blog where you can read interviews and introductions where Ben answers various questions.
